Deborah is a Partner in the firm of Gwyn James Solicitors. After graduating from Manchester University in 1981, she worked for the Post Office for 10 years firstly negotiating contracts with British Rail and then organising sport and recreation for Post Office staff on a National basis. She sold her house and financed her way through law school qualifying as a Solicitor in 1995. After qualifying she worked in firm's local to this area, and then joined Gwyn James Solicitors in September 1999 and became a Partner on 1st October 2001. Deborah has Accredited Specialist status with Resolution, a respected national organisation committed to resolving family problems in a constructive, non-confrontational way.
On a personal front Deborah played international table tennis for Wales at junior and senior level from 1972 to 1979 and was Welsh Ladies Champion in 1978. She founded the Forest of Dean branch of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust following her son being diagnosed with the condition when he was born in 2002 and she has organised numerous fund raising activities, including very successful Charity Balls. Deborah is Treasurer for FOWSA (Friend’s of Wyedean School) and in any spare time she has she also provides a taxi service for her two boys!
